Hi all !!!
Today has been such a productive, tiring, stressful, jam–packed day…. and we never even left the house. LOL.
Much excitement to share from today’s efforts. The first one is that the workbook that I have been spending many, many hours preparing for our central Australia trip, is so so close to being finished… and with very few grey hairs accumulated over the time.. Praise God !!!
It now sits at 126 pages long… so, yes, there is a lot of reading in it, but also lots of interesting pictures to keep them entertained, as well as fun games to complete, comprehension execises, maths problems, pop quizzes.. and best of all… points to be scored towards certain rewards !!!
It’s not surprising that I have learnt a LOT while putting this workbook together, which is a great thing, as I imagine a fair few questions will be thrown at us throughout the trip. I am quite pleased with how I’ve managed to incorporate maths exercises, relating to our trip. For exampple… How many kms will we travel during our time away.. and what will be our average distance travelled each day?
This screenshot is missing a few destinations simply because Google maps won’t allow you to enter more than this many destinations.. but you get the general idea. Exciting right ?? Can’t wait. I don’t think I’m going to be able to blog while I’m gone… unless I develop some seriously good tech skills between now and then.. and seeing as we leave 3wks today… I’m not holding my breath.
I really should start some planning to do with packing… how much to take, how often we’re going to wash.. all that boring stuff. We’re mostly only staying one night at each destination, so it will make it difficult to wash & get things dry. Things to ponder on.. “How exciting!” I hear you saying with much sarcasm. LOL.
OK, number 2 of today’s exciting events is that I have lined up the older two kiddos to volunteer at a local farm… the same local farm that we just donated our pony to. It’s really so exciting for them, not just because it’s something they will absolutely LOVE to do, but it’s educational, a selfless activity (woot woot for encouraging a servanthood heart condition.), and may even lead to a paid position for them down the track.
Finally, Number 3 is that I spent an hour on the phone with our Unit teacher mapping out Miss 13’s accelerated Maths program. Woot Woot.. Business Maths here we come !! (I may not be so excited once she starts it though.) There is something very satisfying about mapping out plans for the kids that stretch into the future etc.
All in all for today….. God is so good.. ALL THE TIME !!! In the midst of today, things were hectic, and stressful, and tiring, but at the end of it all, I’m so happy to be able to look back on it and see HIS hand in all things. Unfortunately, I could see the enemy’s hand in some things today too, but hey, that’s what we have the Armour of God for, right !!! he’s under our feet and we need to stay on guard to keep him there. (No, I don’t have bad grammar, I just refuse to give him a capital ‘h’)
That just about wraps up my day…. now for dinner, bedtime.. and all that comes with that. (However, Dad has just gotten home, so now there is a Science experiment going on in the kitchen.)
Blessings Peeps !!! xox
