Praise & worship

No Other Name !!

Tonight, Terry & I watched a fantastic sermon via Hillsong Live Stream.  For those of you who know Hillsong church.. you’ll likely know who preached, but hey, I”m not going to name names, as that would very much go against the entire message tonight.

Hillsong church has been putting a lot of focus on No Other Name for quite a while now…. leading up to the new album release THIS TUESDAY !!  (Excited much !!)

I’ve heard all the stories before…. read and re-read all the scripture that talk of the power in the name of Jesus… but tonight’s message simply brings it home and reminds me that we are capable of ANYTHING in and through the power of the name of Jesus.  It’s so easy to get bogged down in our day to day, sometimes stressful existence, forgetting that we can overcome ALL things in Jesus’ name !!

I have been unwell for several weeks now… and while I have been claiming that health & wholeness that Jesus came to give us…  I know I haven’t been claiming it as wholeheartedly as I could have been.  It’s just so easy to get down when you’re dealing with lack of energy, a messy house due to said lack of energy, slightly unsettled children due to a decreased amount of attention from their mother, and a general frustration at ‘just feeling yuck’.  Add the lovely side effects of being on strong antibiotics for a prolonged period.. and it’s easy to get stroppy.  BUT…  Jesus came that we may have life and have it ABUNDANTLY !!

This situation simply reiterates what I already know…  God uses EVERY situation to bring about growth !!  I find that I learn something in every situation…..  good, bad, or just mundane.  It certainly does seem that I learn a lot more in a tough situation though… but hey.. Life in abundance is what he came to give us … so that is what we shall have !!

A song that will be on the new album coming out on Tuesday, is ‘This I believe’.  It is a fantastic worship song based on the apostles creed.  I think I may have shared the lyrics before, but here is a small segment of them…. I just LOVE singing them EVERY time !!

I believe in God the Father
I believe in Christ the Son
I believe in the Holy Spirit
Our God is three in one
I believe in the resurrection
That we will rise again
For I believe in the name of Jesus

It is so great to be able to sing what is so deeply etched in my heart, in a great worship song !!

When attending the CRCA church prior to where we worship now, we would recite the Apostles creed on a semi regular basis…. I just love it !!

1. I believe in God the Father, Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth:

2. And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord:

3. Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary:

4. Suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, dead and buried: He descended into hell:

5. The third day he rose again from the dead:

6. He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty:

7. From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead:

8. I believe in the Holy Ghost:

9. I believe in the holy catholic church: the communion of saints:

10. The forgiveness of sins:

1l. The resurrection of the body:

12. And the life everlasting. Amen.

Blessings Peeps !!

If there are words for Him, then I don’t have them…

If there are words for Him, then I don’t have them.
You see, my brain has not yet reached a thought
that could adequately describe the greatness of my God.
And my lungs have not yet developed the ability
to release a breath that could breathe out the greatness of His love.
My voice is so inhibited, restrained by human limits,
it is hard to even sing sufficient praises of Him.
You see, if there are words for Him, then I don’t have them.

My God His grace is remarkable;
His mercies are innumerable;
His strength is impenetrable.
He is audible, accountable, favourable;
He is unsearchable yet knowable;
indefinable yet approachable;
indescribable yet personal.
He is beyond comprehension; further than imagination;
constant through generations, King of every nation.
But if there are words for Him, then i don’t have them

You see my words are few, and to try to capture
the one true God using my vocabulary would never do.
But I use words as an expression, an expression of worship to a Saviour:
A Saviour who is both worthy and deserving of my praise, so i use words.
My heart extols the Lord, blesses His name forever.
He has won my heart, captured my mind and has bound the bolt together.
He has defeated me in my rebellion, conquered me in my sin;
He has welcomed me into His presence, completely abided me in;
Flooding me with mercies in the morning;
Drowning me with grace in the night.
If there are words for Him, then I don’t have them

But what I do have is Good News!
For my God knew that man-made words would never do;
For words are just tools we use to point to the Truth.
So He sent his Son Jesus Christ as the Word, living proof.
He is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of all creation;
for by Him all things were created, giving nothingness formation;
and by His Word He sustains in the power of His name.
He is before all things, and over all things He reigns.
Holy is his name, so praise Him for His life,
the way he persevered his strife;
the humble son of God becoming the perfect sacrifice –

So praise Him for his death; that He willingly stood in our place;
that He lovingly adored the grave; that He battled our enemy
and on the third day rose in victory.
He is everything that was promised; praise Him as the risen King;
lift your voice and sing, for one day He will return for us,
and we will finally be united with our Saviour for eternity.
It’s not just words that I proclaim,
for my words point at the Word, and the Word has a Name;
hope has a Name; joy has a Name;
peace has a Name; love has a Name:
and that name is Jesus Christ – praise His name forever.

HS Day 49 – The last day of Term 1 !!!

So, I have officially homeschooled my children for one entire term… and we’re all still alive…  LOL.  No, it’s amazing to think we’ve not been doing school like this forever…  it seems so natural now.  The idea of my children being back in the mainstream school system now seems extremely foreign.  Shows how quickly you can fall into, what was quite clearly, God’s will for our family.

It is with some confusion, and need of adjustment, from my side as we head into the Easter school holidays as it almost seems like “why should the schoolwork stop?”  Here I am sitting her on the first official day of school hols and it’s very strange to just be doing nothing.  We’re in the same location, on the same time line, and yet, we’re just handing out…  I have to say it seems like a waste of time.  LOL.  There was actually a pupil free day on Friday at most locals schools here, but much to my children’s disgust, I didn’t go by that ruling.  I asked my children “Why do the schools have pupil free days?”  They didn’t know, so I explained to them that the teachers and staff use those days for PD courses, training etc etc.  As we don’t school under this method, we don’t need to come under those guidelines.  I do my PD on a constant basis, but more importantly in prayer & praise and worship time of an evening.  Obviously the PD required for teachers is far more in depth as they have to deal with 30ish kids each day… all with different personalities, strengths and learning ability.  While they know their students very well by the end of each year, it simply can’t match how well a mother knows her own children.  Besides the fact that I only have 3 little people to be concerned about, I also know their personalities extremely well..  how they do, and something don’t, work well together.

Don’t get me wrong, I”m in no way knocking school teachers… I know several and love them dearly, but I’m just trying to point out the differences in why Pupil free days don’t need to happen in our home educational environment.

I’ve spoken to a dear friend who also homeschools her children and it was comforting to hear that she struggles with the same thoughts come school holiday time.. why stop the work at all?  LOL.  Our poor children.  Or, what is probably more accurate… our blessed children.  We are currently planning a 2wk trip to Ularu.  We’ll be doing it during ‘normal’ school time, but because of the flexibility we enjoy, we’ll be able to head out on that trip with no schoolbooks.  I love it !!

Another benefit that has become very obvious heading into school hols is that my two older children who are slightly behind in a couple of subjects are free to use these 2wks to work on those subjects at their leisure and do some ‘catching up’.  An amazing benefit.  They don’t mind it, as it’s only 2 workbooks per day instead of the normal 6… plus they do it prior to the rest of the house getting up in the morning, so it never even effects the day.  :0)

More & more, God is showing me confirmation after confirmation that I have made the best decision, following his calling and will for our family !!

Blessings peeps !!!

“You’re Beautiful !! “

My absolute fav song right now !!!

‘You’re Beautiful’ Lyrics
Jamie Rodwell
I see your face in every sunrise
The colors of the morning are inside your eyes
The world awakens in the light of the day
I look up to the sky and say… Youre Beautiful

I see your pow’r in the moonlit night
Where planets are in motion and galaxies are bright
We are amazed in the light of the stars
Its all proclaiming who you are… Youre beautiful

I see you there hanging on a tree
You bled and then you died and then you rose again for me
Now you are sitting on your heavenly throne
Soon you will be coming home… Youre Beautiful

When we arrive at eternity’s shore
Where death is just a memory and tears are no more
Well enter in as the wedding bells ring
Your bride will come together and well sing… Youre Beautiful
